DRiot puzzle is my first pilot project, serving as the entry point into full-cycle engineering and game development. The core gameplay revolves around a 4x4 grid assembly mechanic, where players reconstruct scrambled schematic fragments to produce functional parts. Assembling a full set of six unique components builds a combat drone that automatically strikes the Megacorporation, advancing the storyline for the Resistance.
Created as a hands-on learning ground, the project focused on mastering game development processes in Unity from scratch. Key systems were built through real-world engineering hurdles: from state management logic and asynchronous UI coroutines to soundscape design and save system architecture. The main objective was connecting isolated mechanics into a cohesive, stable product.
This experience served as a fundamental school of solo development. It marked my first complete journey from notebook sketches to publication on Google Play—including clearing store verification, recruiting mandatory testers via Reddit on a Test-for-Test basis, and enduring the 14-day beta period. Although a finished iOS build never reached the App Store due to Apple ecosystem requirements, DRiot laid the practical foundation for all my subsequent projects.
